Six Buying tips for Diamond Colour

If you are buying a diamond for an engagement ring, diamond wedding ring, eternity ring or other diamond jewellery pieces, here are some quick tips about colour. A clear window will let more light pass through, which is the same as a colourless diamond and therefore will be a higher quality having more brilliance and sparkle.

As you can see, like many jewellers that sell fine diamond jewellery we only go down to the colour grade J, which is a near colourless diamond grade.

Six Tips About Diamond Colour

1. Remember if a diamond is completely colourless graded D, E or F it will be more expensive. 2. If you do want the purest look of a diamond and ultimate sparkle, go for colour grades D, E or F. 3. If you’re on a budget and want excellent value for money - choose G-I colour grades as they are near colourless and have little noticeable colour. 4. Colour grades between G-H and I-J have little difference to the naked eye, but the savings can be significant. 5. If you are opting for a higher carat weight white diamond, colours in the diamond will be visible. 6. Diamond shapes with more angles like round and princess shape can often mask more colours due to having more angles in their cut.
