Finding the Correct Finger size

There are a few different ways to find your finger size, some work better than others.

If it's not possible to visit us at our showroom in Hale, Cheshire to take your finger size, then the next best option is to request our finger size measuring tool - we are happy to send this to you free of charge.

Please note: when using this tool make sure not to make it too tight as usually the knuckle is larger than the bottom of the finger. So if pulled too tight the ring size will end up being too small to fit over your knuckle.

What if im purchasing an engagement ring as a surprise?

We are asked all the time, how can I find out her finger size when its a surprise?

Well there is no perfect substitute for a professional to check the finger size. Most of the buyers of engagement rings through this website purchase the ring as a surprise.

Here are the best options.

1. We have a size option on this website called "Not Sure" if you select this option we will leave the ring as a stock size. This would be around the size M or N, as it's the average size for a lady. If you choose this option we will happily change the finger size of the ring to the correct size free of charge. At any time upto 1 year after the initial purchase of the ring. (insured delivery back to you is free in this case)

2. Check if your partner currently wears a ring on their engagement ring finger. Using a ruler measure the inside width in mm and using the ring finger size chart below you should be able to identify the British ring size. This method of identifying her finger size is not always 100% accurate. This will not work if the ring you're measuring isn't on the correct finger and doesn't fit that finger firmly. If you use this method and it turns out to be slightly too loose or too tight we are happy to size the free of charge as long as the size difference is not more than one full size up or down. (Insured delivery back to you would be £10). If it's more than 1 size up or down the sizing charge would be £50, this includes insured delivery back to you.

3. If it's possible to check with your girlfriends family, you could ask if she ever mentioned her size to them in case of a proposal. Most of the time this won't be possible if you're planning on keeping the engagement a surprise from everyone. The same cost or no cost to size alteration applies as number 2 above.

Important Note

Not all ring sizes can be changed.

There are certain rings that are either difficult to size and should be ordered correctly at the very beginning and other rings such as full eternity ring with diamonds going all the way round which can NOT be sized at all. If you're unsure if the ring you wish to order can or can't be sized just ask us.
