In the run up to the auction of Elizabeth Taylor’s diamond jewellery collection at Christie’s Auction House in New York, the collection will be on show during an art and fashion exhibition in London. The exhibition is set to open its doors to the public today till Monday at the auctioneers on King Street in London. Among the collection on show will be Taylor’s rare diamond jewellery including – La Peregrina pearl set in a pendant and a stunning 33.19- carat Asscher cut diamond ring, given to her by her third husband and the Hollywood star Richard Burton. The collection will also include the many fashion dresses and items that Liz has worn over her years of stardom, including her many wedding dresses and dresses that were specially committed from top designers such as Versace and Chanel. The Chairman of Christie’s Auction Room in New York – Marc Porter stated: “This is without a doubt the greatest private collection of jewellery ever assembled in one place, and Christie’s is honoured to have been entrusted with the global tour of the collection this fall” The fabulous jewellery collection of Elizabeth Taylor is expected to reach around £20 million. The collection has also sparked rumours that big stars such as, David Beckham will be attending the auction in December in the hope to win bids for some of the jewellery in Elizabeth Taylor’s collection.
