Diamonds and Jewels on Sale for Millions This Month at Christies

On the 29th of May, Christies auction house in Hong Kong is going to see some of the most beautiful, rare diamonds auctioned off. Among these rare diamonds at the auction will be a stunning intense pink diamond weighing 12.04 carats, and will be the first vivid, intense pink diamond to appear at auction. The diamond was first purchased in 1976, the first year the Viking 1 mission successfully landed on Mars and was named “The Martian Pink” diamond after the planet. Christies auction house have said the diamond is the largest round intense fancy pink of this significant size to appear at auction, only two round fancy pink diamonds of this kind are known in the world – including a 23.60 carat pink diamond the Queen received on the day of her royal wedding.

This unique ring features three superb diamonds – two pear-shaped and one oval shaped diamond. The centre oval shaped diamond weighs 10.67 carats and has a top colour grade D. The two pear-shaped diamonds are both internally flawless and weigh 6.07 carats and 6.04 carats.
