A Stunning Princess Cut Diamond and Sapphire Engagement Ring

We love creating bespoke jewellery, especially when we are asked to design something completely unique, using precious gemstones and diamonds. 

We were recently asked by a customer to create an original three stone diamond engagement ring, featuring a princess cut diamond centre stone, flanked with two smaller square cut blue Sapphires. We were tasked with creating a contemporary engagement ring, that also looked simple, sophisticated and elegant. 

Our jewellery designer produced a computer image of the diamond ring with the princess cut diamond and Sapphires claw set in 18 carat white gold. The diamond set shoulders of the engagement ring were also designed to taper inwards towards the claw set stones. The shoulders are set with 8 smaller princesses cut diamonds.    

To make the diamond engagement ring from the computer image design on CAD we printed the shank and setting of the ring into a 3D model, which we stuck to an wax tree along with other engagement rings, wedding rings, earrings, eternity rings and more. We then cast the wax model tree into 18 carat white gold using the lost wax process. Once the ring was cast into white gold our goldsmith polished, rhodium coated and set the diamonds and Sapphires on the ring, ready for a final polish.

This elegant Sapphire and diamond engagement ring features a contemporary flat shaped 18ct white gold band. The centre princess cut diamond weighs 0.52 carats, has a colour grade G and a clarity grade VVS2 – a popular choice for diamond engagement rings. The princess cut diamonds set on the shoulders of the ring weigh 0.12 carats.
