A Stunning Rose Gold Bespoke Filigree Diamond Ring

Last week we finished making this stunning white and rose gold diamond dress ring, after a customer came with a design they wanted creating. The bespoke diamond ring is pavé set in 18ct white gold leaf shape prongs with three rows of round brilliant cut diamonds. Each of the round beads in between the prong settings and the top and bottom edge have been plated in 18ct rose gold. The edges are also engraved with a stripe design. rose and white gold diamond ring Delicate fine jewellery with intricate and ornamental design has always been popular, especially in dress jewellery. When you look at the inside of the ring, you will notice the design is inspired by Indian and Asian styled patterns. In the jewellery world this style is known as ‘Filigree’ design. rose gold diamond ring Our modern manufacturing process allow us to achieve this jewellery style. To start off with, we drew out every aspect of the ring from the detailed design to the accurate settings for each diamond on the computer using CAD. We then printed the ring into a 3D wax model, which was extremely difficult to man handle without breaking. Using the lost wax process, we attached the model to a tree of wax along with other jewellery to be cast into 18ct white gold. Once the ring was turned into 18ct white gold and cut off the tree, it was handed to our polisher, who also rhodium coated it to add to the shine and colour of white gold. The ring was then given to our gold smith, who began the challenging task of setting each diamond and rose gold plating the edges and centre beads on the ring.
