It’s official!! The world’s most expensive diamond has gone on display in London ready for the big auction next month. This amazing pink stone is expected to fetch more than $60 million when it hits the auction room. This rare, one of a kind gem weighs 59.6 carats and is a fancy vivid pink colour. It’s even been graded as the largest, internally flawless pink diamond ever to be discovered in the world. If you want to be the new owner of this fantastic oval shaped stone, the auction is in Geneva next month on the 13th. The chairman of Sotheby’s jewellery division, David Bennet said that the rare diamond is “off the scale” when it comes to rarity, colour, size and price. Pink diamonds are known as one of the rarest stones after orange diamonds. The stone has also been graded as vivid yellow, which is the highest possible colour grading for a pink diamond like this. We’re excited to see how the stone does and how well the diamond does when it hits the hammer at auction.
