This stunning halo style engagement ring set with a marquise diamond is one of our latest creations at Steven Stone. We crafted the ring band and mount in 18ct white gold at our workshop using the lost wax casting process. The centre piece of the ring is a beautiful marquise cut diamond engagement ring, which is surrounded by a border of small pavé set round brilliant cut diamonds. One thing that instantly stands out about this ring is the elongated, boat like shape of the marquise cut diamond, which creates a completely different look to typical halo engagement ring styles set with round brilliant cut or cushion cut diamonds. To add to the dazzling look of this ring the shoulders are cut down set, where the prongs are made from the band metal, with small round brilliant cut diamonds. The centre marquise diamond in this particular halo setting weighs just short of a carat at 0.82 points. The marquise diamond features a striking long shape with pointed corners and the standard number of facets for this shape is 58. What’s great about the shape is that it can often appear larger than the carat weight it is. It’s important to take into consideration the length to width ratio of the stone as it effects the diamond shape and light reflection – we always recommend anything between 1.75mm and 2.23mm. If you like this style, we can craft it in platinum, white gold, yellow gold or rose gold with your choice of diamond shape and grades.
