If you’re a fan of the beautiful shape of the marquise diamond you will love this recent bespoke engagement ring we have recently created for a customer. The centre piece of the ring is a striking marquise shape diamond, which is set in two v-shape claws at the two pointed edges of the stone. The shoulders of the stone split where the shank meets the head of the ring and feature small round brilliant cut diamonds beautifully set in claws – adding extra dazzle to the finished piece. We crafted the band and the diamond setting in 18ct white gold and the tapers inwards towards the diamond setting.
All about the Marquise Shaped Diamond
The marquise diamond is an elongated version of the popular brilliant cut diamond. The shape of the stone is curved with pointed corners at either end. Its elongated shape also has the effect of making a diamond look bigger than its actual carat weight. The shape can actually be characterised by the same shape of a boat – – making it unique and a great centre piece for bespoke diamond rings. In total the standard number of facets is 58and to achieve that perfect long, straight look we recommend a length to width ratio of anything between 1.75 to 2.25 – which will defiantly give the stone length and elegance. If you like this piece or want something similar, we can make it. Whether you already have your own stones you want remodelling or you want us to source the stones for you, our bespoke jewellery making service is perfect.
