Recent Diamond Auction Sales
These spectacular pink vivid spinal stem cut gems totalling 40.07 carats sold at auction for $1.9 million (1.2 million) after they were made into drop earrings with six dazzling pear shaped diamonds.
The two spinel gems are beautifully step cut in a rectangular shape surrounded with small channel set round brilliant diamonds- which are unique as you can detach them. The earrings are also set with two large pear shaped diamonds one weighing 7.27 carats and the other weighing 8.78 carats which both hang from the pink spinel gems. Each earring also features two smaller pear-shaped diamond held in 18 carat white gold. The semi precious spinal gems are a vivid hot pink, which with its carat size is a sort after colour by collectors.
This stunning 9.22 carats marquise cut diamond mounted singularly on an 18 carat white gold band sold for $969,838 (£609,310) at Bonhams’ fine jewellery sale in London. The marquise shaped diamond is elegantly held in a 6 claw setting with V-shaped prongs at the edges of the diamonds shape.
