A 9 Carat Pink Diamond has Reached a Record Price at Christies

Known as the Clark Pink diamond set in a ring and weighing 9 carats has sold for a whopping $15.7 million (£9.8 million) at Christies auction house. The diamond shattered its estimate price between $6 to $ $8 million and has set a new record for pink diamonds. The diamond has a fancy vivid purply, pinkish colour.

The new owner of this remarkable pink diamond ring is diamond investor Brett Stettner – who said the diamond is the most beautiful pink diamond he has ever seen and the “colour is sensational” The diamond comes from the vintage jewellery collection of Huguette M. Clark– an American heiress, and was part of her “fairy tale collection” of jewels at Christie’s auction this week – Which achieved a total of $20.8 million (£12.9 million).
