Three Steps to the Perfect Ring....

In today's post we want to share with you three simple steps via stevenstone.co.uk to create your perfect diamond engagement ring. It goes like this.... Select a Diamond - Choose a Setting - Finish the Ring Select a Diamond Using our you can sift through thousands of GIA certificated diamonds until you find the perfect one for your ring. Before you begin your search you need to decide the shape and cut of diamond you want. Do you want a traditional diamond like a round brilliant or a princess cut? or do you want a classic shape with a step cut like an emerald cut diamond or Asscher cut diamond. You may want a vintage diamond shape and cut like a cushion cut or a fancy shaped diamond like a pear shaped, marquise cut, radiant cut and heart shaped. Our diamond search also gives you the option to select the cut, clarity, colour and carat weight - all known as the four Cs of a diamond. To learn more on these four characteristics check out a recent blog on how to buy a diamond. Choose a Setting There are loads of different setting styles for engagement rings, so it's often difficult to find the right one for you. We offer four styles of setting - three stone,, solitaire, diamond set shoulders and halo diamond settings, which can all be seen on our engagement ring category page. As well as the ring setting, you also need to select a type of setting to securely hold the diamond in place. The most common used are claws where the diamond is held in place by prongs or rub over, where the diamond is surrounded by a collar of metal or a half collar of metal. Finishing The Ring Once you have selected a diamond and setting, we will begin the manufacturing process. Firstly we source the diamond or diamonds and then we cast the setting in either 18ct white gold, 18ct yellow gold or 950 platinum. Our goldsmith will then set the diamond and polish the ring, so it’s yours ready to pop the big question with.
