A Rare Fancy Pink-Brown Diamond Ring

Even though this absolutely stunning pink-brown diamond was at auction a while back, we want to share it with you in this post again. The diamond is pear shaped with a brilliant cut and immense sparkle. The fancy rare pink stone weighs a huge 26.96 carats and sold for a whopping $1.4 million at Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels auction last year in New York. pink-brown pear shaped diamond The diamond is beautifully set in an 18ct rose gold ring design, which is surrounded by small, pavé set round brilliant cut diamonds. The pear-shaped diamond is also set on its side in this stunning twist style ring design. As you can see in the image below the band and shank have a unique look with the rose gold twisting and weaving to create this abstract design. We especially love how the pink colour in the diamond goes well with the pink tone of the rose gold. pink-brown pear shaped diamond ring

About Fancy Pink-Brown Diamonds

Pink diamonds are one of the rarest and most sought after gems in the fancy colour diamonds range, as well as blue, red and green fancy coloured diamonds. When a pink diamond has hints of brown, it creates a striking pink champagne coloured stone. Most pink diamonds originate in Australia or South Africa and the rarest tone of pink is a strong, fancy vivid pink and purplish pink. So the lighter the pink tone the less expensive and rarer the stone will be. On the other hand, brown diamonds are a little less expensive, so if the pink has a secondry tone of brown, the price of the stone is “slightly” reduced.
