We were recently asked to create a bespoke engagement ring set with both Sapphires and Diamonds in a simple yet classic design for a customer. In recent years update `wp_posts` set `post_content` = mainly since Kate Middleton received her Sapphire and Diamond engagement ring from Prince William) Sapphires have become a popular choice for engagement rings, especially mixed with diamonds. The combination of a deep blue sapphire and a clear white diamond creates an elegant, timeless piece of jewellery. The customer decided on a three stone ring featuring a large oval-shaped Sapphire set in platinum. With this in mind we created a 4-claw platinum setting to hold the oval-shaped Sapphire with claw settings either side to hold two pear-shaped diamonds. The diamonds and Sapphires are also mounted on a Wedfit band, enabling the ring to fit flush against standard wedding rings with no gaps in-between giving the engagement ring a co-ordinated exclusive look.
The Mount Before the Diamonds and Sapphire Was Set
Here's the mount both before and it was polished
Sapphire gem stones are blue sisters of rubies! Both stones are a mineral of corundum and the second hardest gemstone after diamonds. Sapphires can be found in a wide range of colours, but blue is a classic colour. The intensity of the blue colour is the most important aspect when determining its value.
The Finished Sapphire & Diamond Engagement Ring
The finished engagement ring is set with a 2.22ct oval-shaped Sapphire held in a 4-claw platinum setting. The pear-shaped diamonds are set either side of the Sapphire and total 0.63cts.
