If you like jewellery auctions, there’s a new online auction house, called The Auction Room, which is set to host its first Fine Jewellery auction on the 4th of June. The auction house was founded by George Bailey and Lucinda Blythe, who both have a combined 50 years’ experience working at Sotheby’s. Their aim is to create an interactive, virtual saleroom for fine jewellery and watches, just like Sotheby’s and Christies. The highlightsat the Fine Jewellery Sale include - An extremely impressive platinum broach set with a scatter of diamonds, including 38 round brilliant cut diamonds and 48 baguette-cut diamonds. The total carat weight of the diamonds is 13.75cts and the brooch is set to sell for £20,000-25,000. A platinum and diamonds ring, set with a central 1.24cts cushion cut diamond and surrounded by a halo of round brilliant cut diamonds.
