A couple of weeks ago we started making this stunning, matching engagement ring and wedding ring set for a customer. To begin with the customer wanted the engagement ring to be set with a pear-shaped diamond. With their budget and requirements in mind we got to work on sourcing the perfect diamond, with a good, balanced cut, colour and clarity grade. The setting and band of the ring is from our online collection of engagement ring settings. The pear shaped diamond is set in a basket with 3-claws, and the shoulders cross over to join at the top and bottom edge of the stone. This style is more contemporary then traditional, and is designed to interlock with a similar shaped wedding ring. Once we cast the ring into 18ct white gold, our gold smith set the diamond, rhodium coated the band and setting and gave the ring a final police. We then proceeded to create the perfect shape of wedding ring. The customer wanted her wedding ring to be made in the same metal – 18ct white gold and to be shaped to perfectly interlock with the engagement ring. If you like this style and want something similar for your bridal set, you can either design your own, change the centre diamond, add more diamonds or change the metal. Whatever design you want we can create it at Steven Stone Jewellers.
