A slice of the Duke and Duchess’s Wedding Cake Expected to fetch £1000

A slice of the eight teir cake from the wedding of Kate and William is set to go on sale at auction. The cake was among the 650 pieces, cut from the wedding cake that was given to the close friends and relatives who attended the afternoon reception of the royal wedding last year at Buckingham Palace. The slice of wedding cake has a starting price of £100 at auction that is expected to reach up to £1,000 by the end of the auction. The royal wedding cake was designed by Fiona Cairnes and features eight tiers of beautifully iced fruit cake. The cake slice comes in a a small white and gold presentation tin with a slip that reads “With the best wishes THR update `wp_posts` set `post_content` = Their Royal Highnesses) The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in celebration of the wedding of TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”. Each slice in the tin will also include a 16 page “Order of Service” from Westminster Abbey, including hymns, prays and the vows from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding day. Slices of the cake in the same tin were given to 650 of Will and Kate’s friends that attended the reception lunch on the day of the wedding.
