A special piece - Tourmaline Heart Cross Pendant

Jewellery is a significant and emotional investment, the perfect gift to mark milestones in our lives. Some pieces such as engagement rings and wedding rings can represent someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, while other jewellery may be a reminiscence of someone who is no longer with us.A customer came to us with a bespoke jewellery design in mind- a Celtic Cross pendant with a Pink Tourmaline heart. The pendant was created in the memory of a beloved father and features his birth stone in its centre.

bespoke piece

Last year, Richard's wife lost her father. She and her husband are relocating soon and they wanted to take something from her father with them.  The cross design was taken from Richard's father-in-law's gravestone and the princess cut tourmaline in the centre was chosen for its symbolism. Along with opal, tourmaline is the birthstone of October.  The term Tourmaline includes some other popular gemstone varieties, such as Elbeite Tourmaline and its pink variety - . Our clients chose pink Tourmaline instead of Opal, as it is much sturdier.

After the customer enquired about bespoke manufacturing process, we received an image of a cross design to turn into a piece of jewellery. Once we had the design inspiring the pendant, we created a Computer Aided Design (CAD) and printed a 3D wax model which we cast into yellow gold. We worked along with them through every stage of jewellery manufacturing.

At Steven Stone we can create any bespoke jewellery concepts. For more information on bespoke jewellery manufacturing process visit stevenstone.co.uk
