One of our latest custom remodelling jobs is this stunning, vintage inspired diamond and Sapphire ring. The main feature of the ring is the customers step cut deep blue, rectangular shaped Sapphire. The customer wanted this to be the centre and the feature of the design and wanted the ring to have aspects of the popular 1920’s art-deco style. To create this look we drew up a design of diamonds set around the rub-over set centre Sapphire. The design features small pavé set round brilliant cut diamonds set in leaf and curved shapes, as well as diamonds set on the shoulders of the band. We made the ring setting at our Cheshire workshop in 18ct white gold. Sapphires have become a popular choice for engagement rings and diamond dress rings in recent years for many brides to be. There beautiful blue colour and exquisite cuts make them perfect set with white diamonds. As well as blue Sapphires come in a rainbow of vibrant colours including purple, orange, green and pink. To improve their vibrant colours, most natural Sapphires undergo heat treatment to improve their colour and clarity.
