Over the past couple of months we have been working with a customer to remodel a 10.36 carat cushion shaped checker board cut amethyst into a bespoke dress ring featuring smaller round amethyst stones and smaller diamonds set around the main stone and on the band of the ring.
Customer’s Cushion Shaped Amethyst Stone
Below is an image of the customers cushion shaped amethyst with a checker board cut before it was set into the bespoke ring. The customer started by asking if we could incorporate the smaller diamonds and amethysts into a swirl design onto the band of the ring and surrounding the main amethyst stone. Our designer suggested that the ring band and setting should be made in 18 carat white gold to emphasize the glowing purple of the amethyst.
Computer Design of the Bespoke Ring
Before we began to make the bespoke ring our jewellery designer put together a computer image of the ring for the customer to confirm the her beautiful amethyst stone was remodelled exactly how she wanted it. Once we made the bespoke ring at our in-house studio our gold smith beautifully pavé set 133 diamonds weighing 1.36 carats around the shape and bezel setting of the amethyst centre stone and on one side of the 18 carat white gold shoulders. The other side of the ring is set with round amethyst, also pavé set on the shoulders and surrounding the cushion shape of the amethyst centre stone.
