Fans of Elizabeth Taylor now have the chance to own an item belonging to the Hollywood star, with the announcement of Christie’s New York online auction sale. Due to great interest and thousands packing venues across the world to see Taylor’s jewels and couture collections, Christie’s auction house will hold an online auction for the first time ever, showcasing Taylor's affordable items. Nearly 1,000 of Taylor’s more affordable jewels, clothing and accessories will appear on a special online auction. Marc Porter, chairman and president of Christie's Americas, said in a statement. "The online-only sales provide an additional means for her legions of collectors and fans to participate in the auctions, no matter where they live," Christie’s will split the online sale into four sections - fine jewellery, costume jewellery, fashion and accessories and decorative arts and memorabilia. The online auction will begin December 3rd and finish on December 17th. During this time each of the four categories in the online auction will go on sale in a similar way to eBay – whoever has the highest bid by the end of the bidding time will win the item.
