Creating a Bespoke Emerald Diamond Engagement Ring
A couple of months ago a customer found us on a Google search looking to create a bespoke emerald cut diamond engagement ring. With ideas of the engagement ring design in-mind, the customer emailed us images of the ring design and asked for a quote on the price.
The Emerald Diamond Engagement Ring Design Brief
The customer wanted a decent sized emerald cut diamond at an affordable price held in a 4-claw platinum setting with small round brilliant cut diamonds claw set around the diamonds rectangular shape and cut down set on the shoulders of a flat shaped platinum band.
Sourcing the Diamonds
We worked with the customer to source a GIA emerald cut diamond weighing 0.73 carats, colour grade D, clarity grade VVS2 with an excellent cut grade. The round brilliant cut diamonds set around the emerald diamond and on the shoulders of the band have a total weight of 0.27ct.
Creating the Emerald Cut Diamond Ring
Our designer emailed the customer with a CAD design of the engagement ring for approval. Once the customer made some slight alterations and the ring designed was finalised we printed the ring setting and band into a 3D wax model. Using the lost wax process we then cast the setting and ring into platinum all at our workshop in Hale, Manchester. Our goldsmith then polished the ring and set the emerald diamond and the smaller round diamonds into the platinum claw settings.
