Diamond & Jewels at Christies London Sale of Important Jewels
To celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee Christies auction house in London will host a ‘Sale of Important Jewels’. The sale is taking place on June 13th and will feature a host of royal and aristocratic jewels that span four centuries. There will be a total of 368 lots of royal jewels on sale at the auction house in London, including jewels of Beatrice Countess of Granard OBE ,Princess Soraya Esfandiary Bakhtiary and the late Countess of Dudley. One of the top jewellery pieces that will be on sale at the auction is an Art Deco diamond tiara originally designed by Cartier, once belonging to the Countess of Dudley Maureen Swanson who was also an actress and dancer. The tiara is expected to fetch £100,000 - £150,000 The tiara update `wp_posts` set `post_content` = pictured above) is composed of five shield shape clip brooches that graduate in size, each resembling the pylon – the monumental tapering towers of ancient Egypt. The shield diamond arrangements are mounted on a diamond frame with rows of round brilliant diamonds and baguette cut diamonds. The five shields on the tiara are also detachable and can be worn as brooches.

A pair of coloured rare princess cut fancy vivid yellow Diamond earrings weighing 1.29 and 1.31 carats mounted in white gold claws expected to reach 18,000-22,000. An emerald and coloured diamond ring featuring a rectangular shaped emerald centre stone weighing 2.83 carats with fancy vivid yellow diamonds set in panels. £15,000 - £20,000 A pair of platinum and diamond drop earrings each composed of three round brilliant diamond graduating in size with a large pear shaped diamond dangling at the bottom. The earrings, designed by Cartier are estimated to reach an amazing £120.000 to £170,000 at auction. A sapphire and diamond necklace fully set with graduating oval sapphires surrounded by round brilliant cut diamonds. The necklace is estimated to reach £18,000 – 22,000 at the auction. The necklace also comes with matching sapphire and diamond earrings with a series of pear-shaped sapphires – estimated to fetch £6,000 – 8,000 A multi gem and diamond necklace, earring, ring and bracelet set with fancy mixed coloured stones, including garnet, citrine, peridot, topaz, tourmaline and amethyst. The set is expected to sell for £15,000 to £20,000 An antique emerald and diamond necklace comprising a series of oval and cushion shaped diamonds matched together with a diamond and emerald set bow brooch and earrings £24,000 - £28,000 An art deco diamond and gem stone bracelet with an oriental theme. The bracelet is pavé set with rows of round brilliant cut diamonds styled with rubies and emerald blossom flowers. This unique bracelet is expected to reach £100,000 to £150,000 at auction. A 19th century pear-shaped natural pearl and diamond brooch featuring a cushion cut diamond surrounded by two rows of round diamonds expected to reach £100,00 – 150, 000.
