Engagement Ring of the Week: The Oval Solitaire Ring

This week at Steven Stone, we finished creating this master piece – a solitaire oval cut diamond engagement ring, made in the finest 18ct white gold. platinum-round-brilliant-diamond-set-bridge--1172--1733 This exceptional ring was made by us at our Cheshire workshop, for a customer ready to pop the big question. The focal point of this ring is the oval cut diamond, set in a traditional claw setting, where four prongs of metal gracefully hold the stone in place. To emphasise the brilliance of the stone, our solitaire design tapers inwards as it meets the beautiful shape of the diamond. Another special design feature of this design is the raised shank – known as the “Wedfit” style, allowing a wedding band to fit perfectly underneath with no gaps, which is an important look for brides to be. Oval cut diamonds make the perfect choice for solitaire diamond rings like this. Their beautiful long shape and brilliant cut add to the elegance and romance of this ring. The diamond cut is in fact a modified version of the popular and dazzling round brilliant cut diamond.
