'Mangagement' rings: Engagement Rings for Men

Times are defiantly changing with the introduction of 'Mangagement' – engagement rings for men. The new style of engagement rings - 'Mangagement'rings are said to be gaining popularity, especially with homosexuals who want to make an equal commitment to each other. The idea of creating engagement rings for men has kicked off in the USA, even women are buying them to propose to their other half. From online jewellers to local boutiques, U.S. retailers are now providing engagement options for men as well as women. Amanda Gizzi from the Jewellery Information Centre recently said - in the U.S., the idea is more focused on new found equality, ideal for men who wish to indicate to the world that they are off the market. If 'Mangagement' rings do become popular and both jewellery shops and online jewellers across the world begin to sell them in high volumes, it will give relationships a new sense of equality for both men and women. A recent poll by a popular online dating site in the UK, found that one in ten women have proposed to their male partner. If you go back 30-years this would have been a complete absurd concept. So will we be seeing men’s engagement rings with diamonds in jewellers in the up and coming future? And will the concept of a 'Mangagement' become the norm for women and gay couples to purchase? Some men have said they wouldn’t wear a shiny diamond engagement ring, whereas others are more positive to the idea Lets see if jewellers promote the trend and respond to new habits of engagement ring purchasing behaviour.
