Shane Warne has Popped the Question to Elizabeth Hurley with a surprise proposal

Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley confirm rumours of their engagement this weekend via twitter to all their followers. The couple spent the weekend at the historic golf course, St Andrews in Dunhill as Warne competed in a celebrity pro-am. Hurley tweeted “Thanks for all your congratulations” and added a picture of the pair at Dunhill dinner in St Andrews on Saturday night, before Shane proposed to actress the Estee Launders model. - On Sunday Shane confirmed the rumours of their engagement, tweeting - I didn't propose in front of 200 people at dinner. It was done privately and was very romantic - if I say so myself. Ps left knee is sore!!!" Hurly was spotted during the golf tournament at St Andrews wearing a huge, sparkling sapphire and diamond engagement ring, reportedly costing around £52 thousand. During the day the happy couple posed for photographs with Elizabeth’s nine year old son Damien at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, where proudly flashed her sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Shane Warne, a former Australian cricketer has been dating actress Elizabeth Hurley for 10 months. The marriage will be the second for both of the stars. Shane, 42 split from his wife Simone in 2006, with whom he had three children. Liz, 46 divorced from Arun Nayar in June this year. Hurley’s engagement ring is extremely similar to Kate Middleton’s sapphire engagement ring. A sapphire engagement ring has been a popular choice for engagement rings since Prince William gave his mother, Dianna’s Sapphire ring to Kate Middleton earlier this year. A sapphire ring symbolises love, truth and commitment and it was tradition in the 12th century that if the woman was unfaithful the vivid colour of a blue sapphire ring would fade.
