The Exciting Production of Engagement Rings & Wedding Rings @ Steven Stone

Our production team have been busy this week creating an array of customer’s engagement rings and wedding rings. At the start of the week our designer created computer images of each ring with all the correct stone setting sizes which were later printed into a wax 3D model. Once the wax models are printed and complete then starts the casting process. This week we cast in all four of the precious metals – white gold, yellow gold, rose gold and platinum. Each wax ring model is then added to a stem of wax to create a “Tree of Wax” This is the start of the lost wax casting process. During this process investment mix is poured over the trees in flasks and left over night in a furnace to set and create moulds of the rings where the wax has evaporated. The new moulds are then used to cast the rings into the four different metals which creates the trees below. Our next Stage is to pass them on to our team of goldsmiths who finish the master pieces by polishing the rings and setting the dazzling stones. Stay posted to see some of the stunning pieces next week.
