The Indian Diamond Industry Struggles to Recovered Diamonds Scattered in the July Bombings

The Indian diamond industry is still recovering from the July Bombings that rattled Mumbai’s diamond district, scattering scores of diamonds carried by traders. It’s been reported that around 65 diamonds have been found and recovered since the three bombs hit Mumbai in July. As the bombs hit diamond traders rushed to safe guard their diamonds in safe deposit boxes at their homes, although many failed to protect their diamond. When the destruction was over the traders franticly searches drinks, sewer, puddles, monsoons and debre left from the bomb attracts, managing to recover 65 of the diamonds. The Indian diamond industry plans to auction off all the diamonds recovered that can’t be returned to their owners. The proceeds from the auction will go towards the victims and their families affected by the bomb blasts to help re-build their lives from the destruction the July bombings caused.
