The World’s Largest Blue Diamond Will Hit the Auction Next Month

The world’s largest blue diamond is set to go under the hammer in Geneva next month and is expected to fetch a whopping $25 million. The stunning stone is a blue pear-shaped diamond weighing 13.22 carats and has been described by Christie’s as “the largest fancy vivid blue diamond in the world”. The gem is going to be the centrepiece of Christies “Magnificent Jewels” sale in Geneva next month on May 14th, which is comprised of 250 pieces of jewellery that have a total estimate of $80 million after each piece hits the hammer. These other pieces include a 5.5 carat vivid blue-green diamond called “The Ocean Dream” which is estimated to sell for anything up to $9.5 million, as well as a 76.51 carat pink diamond set on a necklace, weighing 75,97 carats and estimated to sell for $10 million. As you can see the blue stone is beautifully held in a ring setting which features to accenting pear-shaped diamonds which was designed by the owner who wants to remain anonymous.
