The Worlds Largest Flawless Diamond Goes Up For Auction

Christies Geneva auction house is offering “the world’s largest flawless diamond” at auction in May. This beautiful flawless pear-shaped diamond weighs a huge 101.73 carat and has a top colour grade D. The diamond is perfect in every criteria when it comes to cut, clarity, colour and even carat weight grades and was graded by the Gemmological Institute of America – GIA diamond grading lap. From rough the diamond was perfectly carved and cut from a large 236-carat diamond discovered at the Jwaneng Mine in Botswana. In total the stone took 21 months to polish and cut. Apparently the diamond could sell for up to $20 million at auction! The diamond is un-named, allowing the lucky buyer to personally name it.
