Hastings Singer Samantha Hallam and boyfriend Paul Ricketts made television history on Saturday, as he proposed to his partner Samantha in front of more than 12 million viewers and all four X Factor judges. Just after Samantha performed Kings of Leon popular hit – “Sex on Fire” her boyfriend Paul Ricketts appeared on the stage asking politely to the judges if he could “borrow a minute” of their time. He then got down on one knee to ask for Samantha hand in marriage and presented an engagement ring. Samantha immediately shouted “yes” and the pair kissed and hugged in front of an applauding crowed and the judges. The couple stated that they plan to get married in Las Vegas next year. Samantha also stated that the proposal was a complete shock to her and she had no idea. Before the proposal the Hastings pub singer had received two yes’s off judges Kelly Rowland and Louie Walsh and was waiting for a third yes off Tulisa, who thought her voice was better suited for pubs not for recording and large performances. Tulisa and her fellow judges climbed onto the stage after Samantha said yes to congratulate her. It seems that Tulisa romantic side came out as she changed her mind saying “'I'm a people person.
