Diamond Tips - The cushion Cut Diamond

If you like vintage cut diamonds with a beautiful square shape, the cushion cut diamond is the perfect choice. The cushion cut diamond is one of the earlier forms of the modern and popular brilliant cut diamonds developed in the 19th century. As you can see the diamond is shaped like a cushion with its rounded edges and large facets.

Cushion Cut Diamond Earrings and Pendant

The diamond shape is extremely versatile to wear in pendants, earrings, bracelets and engagement rings. One of our favourite styles is the diamond set in a halo diamond style engagement ring setting. cushion cut diamond earrings cushion cut diamond pendant

Our Recommendations

Quality cushion cut diamonds are affected by several different attributes, which can have a large impact on the brilliance of the stone. Width to length ratio is important and to get the perfect square cushion shape a typical ration of 1.00 to 1.05 is recommended. Also because of its extra facets, the diamond can give off more light through the stone which can help to hide inclusions better, so you can opt for a slightly lower clarity grade, allowing more room for higher colour grades, cut grades and carat weight.
