The Beauty of the Radiant Cut Diamond

The ultimate combination of brilliance, fire, elegance and beauty.... radiant cut diamond img If you like the brilliance of round and princess cut diamonds and the rectangular shape of the emerald cut diamond, the radiant cut diamond might just be perfect for you. The diamond was the first square/rectangular cut to have a complete brilliant cut facet, which first became popular in the 1980’s. radiant cut diamond engagement ring with diamond set shoulders

The details

The diamond is brilliant cut and is square/rectangular shaped with cropped corners. The only negative to the diamond cut is it’s prone to the bow-tie effect. Although it’s not as common in the radiant cu as the oval, marquise or pear shaped diamond cuts, it is still something to look out for. The brilliant cut of the diamond is a lot more forgiving of flaws then similar shaped cuts like the emerald cut or the Asscher cut diamond, so you don’t always have to go for a high clarity grade.

Minimum Recommendations for Buying a Radiant Cut Diamond

When it comes to the options for selecting a radiant cut diamond, we recommend the following minimum grades to determine the diamonds quality. Cut – Very Good Clarity – VS2 Colour – G Length to width ratio – for a square cut 1.00 – 1.03 and for a rectangle shape – 1.20 – 1.30
