The business was founded in Manchester in 1937 by Al and Henry Stone. Starting as bullion traders, it wasn’t long before the brothers diversified into precious stones and selling into the jewellery trade.
After Al and Henry retired, Steven took over the business. His commitment to ethical sourcing and exemplary service saw the business move from mostly trade sales to the design, manufacture and sale of high-end jewellery direct to the public. Following early success and growing interest, the first Steven Stone showroom was opened in 1999.
In 2005, Steven’s sons started in the company and launched the website. After becoming directors in 2012, Zack and Max have overseen international growth and opened the first London store—all while staying true to the family values that inspired Al and Henry, way back in 1937.

Certification: All diamonds from Steven Stone will be independently certificated in terms of colour, clarity, carat weight and cut by the GIA, one of the world’s most respected independent laboratories. When comparing price and quality, it’s important to make sure you are comparing like for like and receive genuine certification.

Yes, we can buy back the ring usually at the same price you purchased it at, minus the VAT, and then you would just pay the difference in price for the new piece of jewellery.
Yes, we offer a few different options for product care. We offer annual check and inspection on all stone set products and a complimentary light clean (steam and service) in our inhouse workshop. Please call 0800 080 3535 for further information.

A valuation certificate is a document that states the full retail value of a diamond or of a piece of jewellery. This is used for insurance purposes. All our products worth over £1000 are provided with this certificate.

Steven Stone is a bespoke jewellers, meaning we only hold a small stock of preset engagement rings and make every piece specially tailored for each customer. Our service is second to none, with GIA trained staff at all of our showrooms. On our website we use the 1,2,3 step so you can find the perfect setting and diamond and then review your purchase before you buy. This means you can get the best setting, and diamond for your money. Then leave it to us to cast the ring and set the diamond at our Cheshire & London workshops.

Yes, all of our products come with a UK hallmark. The hallmark is a stamp of proof, to display which metal the product is made from e.g. Gold, Platinum.
Yes, we do provide a free certificate of valuation with all products sold by Steven Stone for over £1000. You can also request valuations for other items on request, although this may be chargeable.
All gold sold by Steven Stone is Hallmarked 18ct.
Steven Stone has built relationships with trusted diamond suppliers over the past 80 years. All Steven Stone diamonds are guaranteed conflict free. Steven Stone only use GIA certified diamonds and use suppliers that adhere to the Kimberley process.
If you are able to visit our showrooms in London, Manchester and Cheshire, then make an appointment to have your piece valued. If you have paperwork or certification relating to the piece, then please bring it with you. Alternatively, make an enquiry online and upload a photo of the item you would like to sell. Please include as much descriptive information as possible, such as the metal type and stones featured, as well as indicating if you have paperwork or certification relating to the piece. Our directors will then undertake a valuation.
Absolutely. Once a price has been agreed, your piece can be used as a deposit for a new piece of jewellery or contribute towards a bespoke design.
We offer more competitive rates than resale websites and high street pawnbrokers. Because we enjoy a high demand for bespoke jewellery, we constantly require materials such as precious metals and unique stones to bring these designs to life. By melting pre-loved pieces and turning them into something new, we are able to utilise your jewellery efficiently as opposed to relying on re-selling a piece in its current form.
Yes if you have asked for a ring to be made a certain size and found out that it does not fit then we do charge a fee of £75 for 18ct gold and £75 for platinum. Pricing may vary depending on the style of ring. Please note: Rings that have diamonds all the way round cannot be re-sized. If you are uncertain of the size we can make the ring to an average ladies finger size, then we do not charge for changing the size.
Our team can help with measuring the correct ring size in our showroom or you could pop into any local jewellers. You can book an appointment here or email the team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you happen to get the size wrong then we can alter the ring but we do charge a standard fee of £75. If you don’t know the size of the ring, then we can make it ‘Stock Size’ and that can be changed at a later date, at no additional cost. Please note: Rings that have diamonds all the way round cannot be re-sized.
At Steven Stone presentation is very important, so we ensure ever last detail is perfect when you purchase diamonds or jewellery from us. All of our jewellery is presented in high quality boxes made from recycled materials. We provide discreet packaging for all postage orders on engagement rings.
We are well-known for our competitively priced, GIA certified diamonds. Having been in the diamond trading industry for more than 80 years, we are highly knowledgeable when it comes to the pricing of diamonds and this means that we can offer stones at up to 60% less than our competitors.
Unlike many traditional jewellers, we do not incur large overheads in order to run our business. This means we are able to pass on the savings to our customers when it comes to sourcing and manufacturing all our jewellery. Our ethos is to be completely transparent and honest so that you can get the best possible price.
Yes, All the prices on the Steven Stone website are including VAT at 20%.
If you would like your order delivered to a different delivery address please read over our conditions regarding this and contact us. We want to ensure all items are received by the correct person but we will accommodate your needs as much as possible.
This depends on the type of item that’s been ordered. Stocked items are usually delivered the next working day if the item is ordered before 3pm and items made to order can take 15-30 working days. To get a confirmed or expedited delivery date please contact us on 0800 080 3535.
Within the United Kingdom, we send all of our parcels via Royal Mail Special Delivery. For outside the UK we use FedEx for all parcels outside the United Kingdom. All deliveries sent by Steven Stone are fully insured.
